DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Officers with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department say that a man is facing charges after allegedly holding a gun to a woman’s head in a hotel room Thursday morning.
Police say the man was already known to authorities in Noble County.
A deputy with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department released the following:
Around 8:00 am.m, deputies with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Lighthouse Inn, 3400 block of U.S. 6, for a domestic problem in which a firearm was allegedly held to a female’s head. Deputies were advised that they were leaving in a vehicle westbound on U.S. 6.
I located the vehicle in question parked at the Twilight Inn, 2000 block of U.S. 6. I spoke with the female involved in the situation, who indicated that the male party was inside her room at the Twilight Inn.
She also advised that he was likely armed and dangerous. It was also known that the male had an arrest warrant out of Noble County. Police Officers from various law enforcement agencies arrived to assist with surrounding the room. After numerous announcements were made for the male to exit the residence, a robot was deployed inside the room.
Shortly thereafter the male was taken into custody without further incident. Police units stood on perimeter of the building for approximately 2.5 hours during the incident. A firearm was located and seized from the scene. The male, Raymond Lothamer (age 30), was arrested on the warrant.
Charges in DeKalb County from this incident are currently being pursued. The charges will not yet be announced, due to the fact the charges have not yet been filed, nor the arrest not yet being made for those charges yet. The female is remaining unnamed at this time, for her safety.
