MERRILLVILLE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Folks across northern Indiana could be paying more to heat their homes this winter.
NIPSCO is asking state regulators for a 17-percent increase in its natural gas rates.
The company wants to raise rates in two stages, with the first coming next fall.
NIPSCO says the price hike would actually lead to more stable bills and less of a fluctuation between warm and cold months.
