INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – There’s now a federal investigation into just what happened when an Indianapolis police officer kicked a homeless man in the face during an arrest last month.
The U.S. Attorney in Indianapolis yesterday said their office and the FBI are both involved.
Indianapolis Police suspended Sergeant Eric Huxley after releasing video of the arrest, and prosecutors in Indianapolis are pressing ahead with charges of their own.
Huxley is heard on the video saying he meant to use his foot to keep the man under control, but missed and kicked him in the face.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – He says it was an accident, but prosecutors in Indianapolis say it’s a crime.
Indianapolis Police Sergeant Eric Huxley says he tried to put his foot on a homeless man’s shoulder during an arrest last month to get the man under control.
Body camera footage released yesterday shows that he missed, and kicked the man in the face. Prosecutors yesterday announced felony official misconduct and battery charges.
Huxley has been suspended. Two other officers at the arrest were also suspended, though they have not been charged.
