Fort Wayne police say a man wanted in connection with a shooting at a mobile home park last week has been arrested. (Original story below)
Fatir Mumin Muhammad was arrested in a traffic stop on 12/19/21 at 12:44 am without incident. Fatir Muhammad was arrested in connection with the shooting that occurred on 12/14/21 at 8:18 am on 2700 W. Washington Center Rd.
Arrested: Fatir Mumin Muhammad, 53 year old male
Preliminary Charges: 2 counts of attempted murder and 1 count burglary with bodily injury.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Police in Fort Wayne are looking for whoever shot and wounded two people at a mobile home park Tuesday morning off W. Washington Center Road.
Both victims were rushed to the hospital. One victim has life-threatening injuries. Early indications are that the shooting started as a domestic violence incident.
Investigators believe they know who pulled the trigger, but say they have not yet found them. The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking the assistance of the community for any information that may help lead to the whereabouts of Fatir Mumin Muhammad. He is a person of interest in the shootings. Police say he is a male, African American, 53yrs old, 6’00”, and 190 pounds and is believed to be armed and dangerous.

FWPD officials released the following account of Tuesday’s events:
On December 14, 2021 (Tuesday) the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a shooting that occurred at 2700 W. Washington Center Rd. at approximately 8:18am. The caller advised our communication center that her ex-boyfriend was shooting people in the trailer. The adult male Suspect fled in a vehicle prior to Police arrival. Upon arrival FWPD Officers located two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One victim, an adult male, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other victim, an adult female, was transported to a local hospital, where later she was determined to have life-threatening injuries.
A school lockdown was initiated as a preventive measure for public safety; once the scene was contained, it was released. The caller was uninjured and being interviewed by homicide detectives. The investigation is very fluid, as Police exhaust every lead to locate the Suspect.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
