MARION, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana State Police say that a Grant County correctional officer has been arrested for sexual misconduct.
Indiana State Police were brought in after it was suspected that the 30-year-old Gas City man had been involved in a sex act with an inmate at the Grant County Jail.
William Niverson is now facing sexual and official misconduct charges.
ISP officials released the following:
Last night, a criminal investigation by Indiana State Police First Sergeant Detective Bob Burgess resulted in the arrest of Grant County Correctional Officer William Niverson, 30, Gas City, IN. Niverson was booked into the Grant County Jail to face criminal charges for sexual misconduct and official misconduct. He has since posted bond and was released.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Department requested the Indiana State Police investigate a possible sex act between an adult female inmate and Niverson.
Evidence revealed that Niverson and a female inmate purportedly committed a sex act at the Grant County Jail.
Niverson started employment with Grant County in August of 2017.
