FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A man has been arrested seven years after the shooting death of Dontay White. White was 17 at the time and a student at Snider High School. He and another person were shot in a car off Brickshire Parkway in 2016. Jerrad Newman was seriously injured but survived.
The coroner ruled White died from a single gunshot wound to the neck.
The FWPD said on Monday said that Michael Harding II, who was 16 at the time of the shooting, is now facing charges of murder, aggravated battery posing a substantial risk of death, robbery resulting in bodily injury, and intimidation where the defendant draws or uses a deadly weapon.

On Sunday, 06/04/2023 at 1821 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department conducted a high-risk felony traffic stop on 24-year-old Michael Harding II at the intersection of Lima Road and W. Coliseum Blvd. Harding was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Allen County Jail for the following charges; Felony Murder, Aggravated Battery, Robbery (Attempt) and Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon. Harding was arrested concerning the shooting – homicide incident that occurred on 05/18/2016 in the 9100 Block of Brickshire PKWY. The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit was assisted by the Gang and Violent Crimes Unit, the Street Crimes Unit, the Uniform Patrol Division and the Allen County Prosecutors Office.
