FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Two people now face charges for a Fourth of July shooting that left a juvenile in critical condition.
Police initially said the shooting happened in an alley between Bowser and Holton. The underage victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Fort Wayne Police Department says with the help of other agencies officers arrested 22-year-old Tyron Hill Jr. and 24-year-old Quayawn Eldridge on Thursday.
Both were taken into custody on the 200 block of Dunbar Lane without incident. They are facing preliminary charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery and criminal recklessness.

On July 6th, 2023 at approximately 1900 hours, the FWPD Homicide Unit took into custody Tyron Hill Jr. and Quayawn Eldridge in the 200 block of Dunbar Ln. Fort Wayne IN. Both suspects were charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery, and Criminal Recklessness for the shooting investigation on 07/04/2023 involving a juvenile victim. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident with the help of FWPD Gang Unit, FWPD Narcotics Unit, Indiana State Police, US Marshalls, and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne Police Department officials say one person, an underaged male, was critically injured in a shooting late last night on Bowser Avenue.
Initial information was that it happened in the alley between Holton and Bowser shortly after 10 p.m.
Police think the underage victim was shot in a car. The FWPD says that officers continue to investigate.

On Tuesday, 07/04/2023, at approximately 10:11 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2900 block of Bowser Avenue reference a shooting. Officers arrived and located a juvenile male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition.
Initial information indicated the shooting occurred in the alley between 2900 Bowser Ave and 2900 Holton Ave. During the incident, shots were fired into a vehicle, striking the victim. The vehicle exited the alley and proceeded onto Bowser Ave, where officers located the victim. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were paged to assist in this investigation. Detectives conducted interviews of witnesses and canvassed the neighborhood for additional witnesses and hoping to obtain video surveillance of the incident.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Anyone with information is asked to contact FWPD or use the P3 Crime Stoppers app.
