PHILADELPHIA (ADAMS) – A massive brawl cut joint practice between the Eagles and Colts short in Philadelphia. Philly center Jason Kelce laid a blindside block on Indy linebacker Zaire Franklin at the end of a play, which sparked a sideline-clearing fight.
The veteran took responsibility for his actions at the end of practice, calling his hit a “cheap shot.” Kelce appeared to take exception after Franklin got physical with Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell several times.
The Indianapolis linebacker said, “When you have joint practices against other organizations, sometimes your speed ain’t their speed. People get offended – that’s life.” The Eagles and Colts square off in a preseason game in Philadelphia on Thursday night.
