Two major New York City music festivals have been canceled as severe weather threatens the region with strong winds, heavy rain, and possible coastal flooding.
Organizers of All Things Go NYC announced that the three-day event at Forest Hills Stadium would not move forward after discussions with local officials, the venue, and weather advisers. The festival was scheduled for Sept. 25 through Sept. 27, with MUNA, Zara Larsson, Hayley Williams, Mitski and Lola Young among the planned performers. Ticket holders are expected to receive refunds.
Global Citizen Festival organizers also confirmed the cancellation of their Sept. 26 event on Central Park’s Great Lawn after consulting city officials and NYC Parks. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean, Shaboozey, TOMORROW X TOGETHER and Alicia Keys were part of the scheduled lineup.
Organizers said weather conditions made it unsafe to bring large crowds, performers, staff and equipment onto the festival grounds. The cancellation is the first for Global Citizen Festival in its 14-year history.
