ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced alternating lane closures on State Road 3/Lima Road in Fort Wayne.
Starting on or after May 13, crews will replace pipes under the roadway between Dupont Road and Carroll Road. Work on the project is expected to be complete by the end of July.
INDOT released the following:
Crews will work on Phase 1 of the project by closing the northbound side of S.R. 3/Lima Road, with traffic utilizing one lane in each direction on the southbound side of the road. During Phase 1, access to Broken Oak Road and Oakville Road will only be available for traffic heading south with a right turn in and right turn out movement. Northbound traffic needing to access these roads will need to seek an alternate route.
Once Phase 1 is complete, crews will move to the southbound lanes of S.R. 3/Lima Road to work on Phase 2 of the project. Traffic will be moved to the northbound lanes, utilizing one lane in each direction. During Phase 2, traffic will not have access to or from Broken Oak Road, and southbound traffic will only have access to Oakville Road through the right turn in and right turn out movements. Drivers needing access to Broken Oak Road and northbound traffic needing access to Oakville Road will need to seek alternate routes.
Traffic is expected to back up in the area due to the temporary changes to the traffic pattern. Drivers should consider seeking an alternate route.
INDOT encourages drivers to consider safety for all by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when travelling in and around all work zones.
All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
