INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana will effectively end a diversity program for contractors that it used for decades to get more women and minorities in the process.
Governor Mike Braun says he is replacing those preferences in the Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises Program and Indiana’s Diversity Business Enterprises Program with a merit-based system. The move follows Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita saying the preferences violated the state constitution. Democrats are criticizing the move as a revival of preferential treatment for insiders.
