GRANT CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Investigators working from the Indiana State Police Peru Post are requesting information, from the public, about a Grant County crash in which a 20-year-old Marian, IN man, died.
Friday morning at approximately 8:00 a.m., Trooper A.J. Coffee was dispatched to I-69 near the 261-mile mark on a report of a deceased man. When Coffee arrived, he found a male, later identified as Michael Nash, 20 Marion, IN, laying in the median. Nash was pronounced deceased by the Grant County coroner.
ISP officials say that preliminary evidence indicates sometime after approximately 1:35 a.m. Nash was riding a bicycle, in the road, on southbound I-69 near the 261.5-mile marker. Nash’s bike was hit by a southbound vehicle, ejecting him into the median. The vehicle which hit the bicycle fled the crash scene.
Police say that evidence indicates the bicycle was hit by a semi-tractor which continued southbound after the crash.
Anyone with information about this case should contact the Indiana State Police by calling 1-800-382-0689 (inside Indiana) or 1-765-473-6666.
