FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Dennis Covert, President of Honor Flight Northeast Indiana (HFNEI), announced that effective January 19, 2022, he is voluntarily stepping down as President.
Dennis has been involved with HFNEI since 2010 and has served as president for 5 ½ years. Mr. Covert stated; “It has been an honor and privilege to serve as president of HFNEI. I loved my time as president and I look forward to serving as a member of the Board of Directors and continuing our mission of transporting veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials that were built in their honor.”
Cathy Berkshire was elected as in-coming President of HFNEI at a Board of Directors meeting on November 17, 2021. Cathy has been involved with HFNEI since 2009. She has worked on fund-raising efforts, served as a guardian, bus leader, trip leader, and since 2014 has served as corporate secretary. President-elect Cathy Berkshire said; “I serve on the HFNEI Board of directors in memory of all my family members that have served this great country since 1940. I truly feel honored and blessed to serve our veterans with this amazing organization. I am eager and excited to resume our Honor Flights in Spring 2022.”
