ALBION, Ind. (ADAMS) – Saturday will start a new season for a local animal sanctuary.
Black Pine Animal Sanctuary, an accredited Global Federation of Animal Sanctuary since 2019 and the only multi-species accredited GFAS sanctuary in the Midwest, will be opening their gates to the public this weekend.
Hours for visiting are Saturday and Sunday, only, 1pm – 4pm. Tours are available Thursday – Sunday at 10am and 12pm. Reservations are strongly encouraged, as the group size is extremely limited.
Representatives released the following:
Our new residents include 4-year-old wolfdog hybrids Minco and Karma, Snow Macaque Leo,
Winona the Woma python, and Gideon, a blue-tongued skink. Black Pine Animal Sanctuary is also working with Kentucky Fish and Wildlife to become the forever home to a bobcat. Bane, the bobcat, was seized two months ago by Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officers from individuals who had him for a pet. Owning a bobcat as at pet is illegal in Kentucky.
Black Pine is the home to 80 distinct species that will be as curious to see guests as guests are to see the animals. After months of hibernation, our Black Bears Ben, Cinny, and Taz are up and at ’em. Ima, Prince, Elvis, and Patronus, four tigers raised in captivity by ‘Joe Exotic” from the Netflix series Tiger King, are in their roomy habitats waiting to chuff , which is hello in tiger talk, to visitors.
