UPDATE (June 26, 2026):
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking for help finding a driver who took off after fatally hitting a man with their vehicle last week on Maysville Road.
He was found unconscious in the early hours of Friday morning on the side of Maysville, close to Lake Forest Drive, and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Fort Wayne man was identified as 49-year-old Donsia Lamont Kizer.

The Fort Wayne Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance asking for any information regarding a fatal hit and run that occurred near the 6700 block of Maysville Rd. between the hours of 11:30PM on 06/18/2026 and 3:15AM on 06/19/2026.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department is conducting a death investigation after a man was found unconscious overnight on the side of Maysville Road, close to Lake Forest Drive.
Just after 3 a.m. on Friday, officers and and an ambulance were called. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Police reportedly think it may have been a hit-and-run.
Around 5 a.m., the FWPD sent out the following:
On Friday, June 19, 2026, at approximately 3:11 a.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) responded to the intersection of Maysville Road and Lake Forest Drive regarding a report of a person down. A passerby reported locating an adult male lying on the side of the roadway who appeared to be unconscious.
Personnel with the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority (TRAA) responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
At this time, a death investigation is underway. The roadway is expected to remain closed for several hours while the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) and Air Support Unit (ASU) process the scene.
This investigation remains active and ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
