FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Police in Fort Wayne are investigating the death of 61-year-old Wayne Foster as a homicide. Foster died at a hospital on Tuesday from injuries he suffered in a fight on June 11 in the 2,000 block of Nelson Street.
He suffered blunt impact injuries to his head during the fight.
No other information has yet been released.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following:
The autopsy has been completed and next of kin has been notified regarding the deceased individual who was involved in a physical altercation on Thursday, June 11, 2026, in the 2000 block of Nelson Street, Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, at about 19:15 hrs. Identified is Wayne Andrew Foster, Male, White, age 61, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was transported to Lutheran Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Wayne Andrew Foster’s Cause of Death is Complications of Blunt Impact Injuries of Head and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Wayne Andrew Foster is the 16th Homicide for Allen County in 2026.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
